PWN Princeton Area celebrated Orange & Black Day and the 200th Anniversary with a brunch on October 24. Alumnae connected across five decades, with undergrads and grads from the '70s to *22. Happy 280th Princeton!
The Princeton Association of New England, Alumni Advancement, and the Princeton Varsity Club sponsored an Orange and Black Day celebration and pre-game reception in Caqmbridge prior to the Harvard-Princeton football game on October 24th. Over 270 Boston area alumni signed up for the event and we filled the venue with smiling faces and enormous quantities of Orange and Black.
The Kenya Chapter of the PAA of Africa celebrated Orange and Black Day with its first event in Nairobi! 🐅

Alumni in Potomac, MD celebrated Orange and Black Day with a concert by The Tigressions followed by a hearty locomotive for Princeton. Attendees ranged from under 1 to over 80!
The Princeton Assn United Kingdom is celebrating the AA 200th anniversary in classic English pubs in 3 PAUK cities. In London, on 23 October, ≈50 alumni across every decade from the '70s to the '20s gathered all evening at The Counting House, a City pub in an 1890s bank building with foundations on an ancient Roman basilica. We had newcomers to London, Tigers we see often, Londoners who joined us for the first time in a decade, and visitors from PAA France. Our hosts were Olivia L '26 and Dean M '83. We won't wait another 200 years for the next one!
The Great Class of 1971 gathered virtually on Orange and Black Day to celebrate the University's founding and hear from our class VP and newest author, Kevin Loughlin '71. Kevin discussed his book, The Princeton 71s: The Classes of 1771, 1971 and James Madison, presenting extensive research into the life of the Founding Father—including Madison's time as a Princeton undergraduate and arguably the university's first graduate student.
He regaled the several dozen classmates, many dressed in our favorite colors, with insights into Madison's contributions to the birth of the United States and his interactions with other notable figures of the era. The book also compares the Princeton of Madison's day with the Princeton of 1967–1971. In response to a question about what Madison might think of Reunions, Kevin suggested he would feel right at home with its scale and spirited atmosphere, noting that Dolley Madison regularly hosted popular weekly "squeezes" in the White House that attracted hundreds of guests.
As part of a larger Orange & Black Day gathering in Sleepy Hollow, NY, Claire Hurley Hertan '82, Ruth Singleton '82, Jenny du Pont '82 and Jordan Becker '82 snuck away for a picture.

Today, I’m celebrating Princeton’s Orange and Black Day while traveling to speak at the One We Reach conference. Different communities, but a shared commitment that resonates deeply with me: using our gifts, our voices, and our opportunities to serve others.
Celebrating Orange and Black Day with my dog Laura in my neighborhood in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. I am decked out in my running gear at the end of a hot October day. I am wearing socks in the colors of the Namibian flag, owing to the fact I was an international student and the first Namibian to attend Princeton (our country has existed for 36 years).
